Arab Media & Society

For Authors

Open Access Policy

Our commitment to free, unrestricted access to scholarly research for all readers worldwide.

Arab Media & Society is an open-access, peer-reviewed academic journal committed to disseminating high-quality research without barriers to access. All content published by Arab Media & Society is freely available immediately upon publication, and users are permitted to read, download, print, copy, search, share, or link to the full texts of any articles for lawful personal or academic purposes without requiring prior permission from the publisher or authors, in alignment with the principles outlined by the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).

Copyright and Licensing

While our content is freely accessible, Arab Media & Society upholds a strict policy regarding copyright and republication. Authors retain copyright to their works under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives License (CC BY-NC-ND), unless otherwise stated. This license permits users to share content with proper attribution but prohibits modifications or commercial use without explicit authorization from the publisher or author.

Authors grant exclusive license to the journal upon publication. Any requests from third parties to reproduce articles should be sent to editor@arabmediasociety.com. In granting an exclusive license, authors may use their own material in other publications provided that Arab Media & Society is acknowledged as the original publisher.

No-Fee Publishing Model

Furthermore, we do not charge authors any fees for submission, peer review, or publication, ensuring that financial considerations do not hinder the dissemination of scholarly work. This no-fee model reflects our dedication to supporting equitable access to academic knowledge across diverse communities. Arab Media & Society's online version is fully open access. Print copies of the journal are available. For inquiries, please contact the editorial team.

DOAJ Compliance

Our policies are fully in line with the DOAJ Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing, ensuring ethical standards in publishing, clear copyright and licensing terms, and rigorous peer-review processes. By adhering to these practices, we aim to foster a global platform for meaningful dialogue on Arab media and society.

Indexing and Discoverability

Arab Media & Society is indexed by Scopus-Elsevier, ensuring that published research reaches the widest possible academic audience. Our open access model, combined with Scopus indexing, maximizes the visibility and impact of published research. We continuously challenge the boundaries of communication research, guiding our readers to new questions, new evidence, and new conclusions.

Translation Initiative

With an objective to make Arab media information globally available, AMS has launched a new initiative to translate all Arabic articles into English. The translation service grants a global presence to authors and their research. If an article is selected for translation, the author will be informed, and their consent requested prior to the translation process. Once translation takes place, the papers are reviewed once more by our Editorial board and Editors to ensure accuracy of information and academic terminology. Translation is done at no cost for the authors.
